Our friend and member of our Board of Advisors, Rev. David VanBrakle, understood all too well the burdens clergy carry in service to their congregations and communities. An avid storyteller and collector of others' stories, David’s gift was to recognize that special spark in every person. He gave them place, affirmed their unique gifts, and welcomed them into community.

David succumbed to clergy stress in March 2023. His wife Rev. Dr. Erica remains an avid supporter of THE PARSONAGE PROJECT and has taken his seat on the Board of Advisors, helping us to establish long-term covenant groups to ensure that every clergy member is connected and supported.

The Parsonage Project lost a beloved friend and advisor on June 8, 2024. Fala worked tirelessly to ensure clergy had a hospitable place to go on Martha's Vineyard. Endless hours of research, site visits, negotiations, and prayers went into identifying The Parsonage Project's future home, all thanks to Fala who, while not clergy, was a faithful Christian minister. Known for her business ethics, Fala's work was truly in her ministry and service to others. She passed quietly with her beloved Yorkshire Terrier, Bella by her side. You can read more about Fala in her obituary on MV Times.
