Election Day
US Election

The Parsonage Project, Rev. Dr. Scott Hughes (UMC), Ryan Greer (Bedrock), and Cody Zoschak (ISD) joined clergy from around the country to learn strategies of leadership in partisan times. Participants learned to deepen their understanding of Christian nationalism and its implications; effective strategies to address conspiracy thinking in their community; empower themselves and their congregations to stand against radicalization and hate, and strategies to lead with courage, compassion, and faithfulness in times of conflict. The recording is located at the bottom of the page.

Can we invite candidates to speak? Can we speak out against issues our faith defines as core? Can I as a clergy person have an opinion of my own? Join our friends at the UCC in their 2024 Elections update on the “Do’s & Don’ts” for congregations around the election - “Be Prophetic, Not Partisan!” Provided in cooperation with, and with thanks to, the UCC Office of Public Policy & Advocacy.

Provided in partnership with, and with thanks to, the UMC Board of Discipleship.

Participating in our country’s political life isn’t just about casting our own vote – it requires working together so we can all vote and vote faithfully. There are many ways to get involved – from participating ourselves to supporting others in our congregations and communities. We can all play a role in getting “souls to the polls!” Provided by the Episcopal Church Office of Government Relations in partnership with the UCC, ELCA, and Interfaith America.

This lesson allows for you to help your congregations understand and explain what political violence is, discuss public opinion about political violence, identify areas of concern, cite examples of political violence, and demonstrate knowledge and understanding of a specific incident of political violence. Bad actors spread disinformation to undermine democratic institutions and the power of facts. False or misleading information can evoke a strong emotional reaction that leads people to share it without first looking into the facts for themselves, polluting healthy conversations about the issues and increasing societal divisions. Do your part to stop the spread of disinformation by practicing and sharing these tips. Provided by CISA.gov.
